Very quick service with food of consistent quality. I was first introduced to this place when a friend ordered it for take-out, and I was hooked since then. The ambiance is pretty low-key, making it a great place for nice, meaningful conversations.

This is hands down the best sul lung tang I've ever had and would go out of my way for. Han Bat has a very limited menu but their specialty really shines through. You can choose what type of meats you want in your soup and they come perfectly tender. They have a few side dishes (kimchi and radish) but you can tell they're all homemade and add tanginess and texture to the soup meats.

Tiny, whole in the wall place that's full of deliciousness. Loved everything about this place! Even that their items are priced so that after taxes, it's a whole dollar amount. Am I easy to please? Perhaps  BUT the food was yummy. Sullungtang is sullungtang you say? You have a point but the service and banchans are what takes it to the next level. The second I sat down, they brought my kids a bowl of soup and rice. No hangry kids waiting for food here!!!!!

ALWAYS DELISH!!! we ordered two different things and both tasted phenomenal! I suggest you go and check it out. Sometimes during dinner or lunch rush, there could be a line.

TLDR: If you're in the mood for a clean, healthy bone broth and a simple meal, this is the spot for you! Bonus points for supporting a local business that is inclusive and not discriminatory of Korean, Spanish, and English backgrounds. Between the businesses that I have visited in Koreatown, this is one of the healthiest ones with staff members of all backgrounds sharing laughs and communicating in one another's languages.

I've always heard of Han Bat and have been eager to try it for ages.  There is a parking lot in the back, but I took public transportation to avoid driving in the traffic roulette that is Koreatown / Los Angeles. I ordered their salgogi sullungtang, and it really hit the spot!

The side dishes were scant, mainly pickled radishes and kimchi. I found both to be too sour, salty, and spicy and not too much on the sweeter side. Interestingly, I'm not sure what happened, but they tasted better as I kept eating - similar to aged alcohol... hits different, but I don't know why. The brisket was tasty and made better by the chili paste, and the broth? Definitely add those green onions, because a bit a garnish goes a long way!

Service is quite quick and slows down as you are preparing to pay for the check. I really enjoyed their eco-friendly reusable checks and beautiful calligraphy. The little things matter, and this is but only one.

Another observation was that the staff here were both from Korean and Spanish speaking backgrounds. The staff learn one another's language and culture, and that is one feature that really stood out to me. Their inclusion of one another and what seemed like a departure of the silent but understood social hierarchy was welcoming, and not once did any non-Korean speaking customers feel like they were treated differently. To have a community like this in Koreatown is encouraging, and I hope to return to support businesses with this inclusive mindset.

When a restaurant only has 1 or 2 things on the menu, you know it's gotta be good. No frills sul lung tang, fresh kimchi, clean restaurant. Would definitely recommend if you're in the mood for it.
